Lefty the Southpaw Looping Machine

From the Hills of the Rockies at the Campus of Mines
Came a young lad who rarely drank beer or wines
A student of Engineering, and a Player of Pong
When he first tried to loop, too many went long
Yet Lefty progressed with his Southpaw stroke
And now this Southpaw can beat many a bloke
His Singles are good, but his Doubles very fine
Loops fast down the middle and to the white line
In Campus Intramurals Lefty beat them All
But only took Second in Doubles with Paul
They fell to a Pied Piper and one from the Wood
Who hammered the Lads, though they played good
Then Southpaw teams with Out-of-Woodwork Graham
A Civil War team taken by their Loop and their Slam
They beat the Mighty Alfred in that Doubles Match
Like Hans took Alfred years prior and opened the latch
Lefty in the Springs teamed with a Piper and Beer
Southpaw and Pied Piper to First Place got Near
In Under Thirty-Two-Hundred they took Second Place
The Year after Junping and Piper won the whole race
Then in the Civil War, Piper and Lefty did Play
Nearly upsetting another doubles team that day
Lefty the Southpaw looped the cover off the Ball
Piper and Lefty lost it - but it was a close call
The best on the Campus could beat the Looping Machine
The others tried, because they thought they were so mean
But Lefty outgunned them like Wild Bill the Gunslinger
This Southpaw doesn't gamble, but would be a sure Ringer
So if you come to the table, and think you're most able,
And You've beaten the Pongers that are the most stable
And though your spin or your speed others call "mean"
Just beware of Lefty the Southpaw Looping Machine.
