What is Pong?
The game that many Americans have played in rec-rooms, basements, and garages, commonly called ping pong, at more advanced levels is an international sport called table tennis. Table Tennis has been an Olympic sport since 1988. Table tennis is believed to have originated in the country of Great Britain in the late 1800s, although the original equipment was substantially different from that of today. In order to advance from the recreational game of ping pong, competitors must develop techniques of tournament table tennis players, and understand the use of modern equipment.
