The Legend of Tommy McChop
From PiedPipersHouseOfPong
It was a quiet night in the Brooks Air Base Pong Room
The Pongers unaware that one would cause them doom
Then entered to the den - one seemingly named "Chop"
A muscular t-shirt Chap with his hair in a neat crew crop
He said his name was “Tommy”, yes said with a big grin
Then one-by-one he proceeded to do all those Pongers in
The Brooks Regulars tried to muster more speed and spin
But this Tommy Chap would chop, chop - 'til he would win
The Brooks Pongers had heard many stories told before
That at Air Bases a tall crew-crop chap came to the door
A muscular Chap able to chop until all the cows came home
Swiftly to any place behind the table -- he could easily roam
They thought it was legend - when they talked in a diner booth
Yet they did not consider that legends - may just be the truth!
The Brooks Pongers were hitters who took down many with ease
Yet Tommy just glided balls back to the table like a soft breeze
They didn’t catch his sir name as he headed straight for the door
Who was it? - Who was this great Chap that Chopped to the Core?
They only knew the name "Tommy" who caused them all to flop
So in his very honor they just bestowed him as "Tommy McChop"
At all the Military Air Bases around metropolitan San Antoine
This great legend of Tommy McChop surely was well known
They had heard of him at Kelly, Lackland and at Wilford Hall
Some say at Brooks Air Base they now know him best-of-all
Yet did they really know this fine Chap, or just know his game?
No one could ever figure out -- this Chop Chap’s last sir name
Years have past, yet they don’t know him -- to this very day
Although some said it could have been the Great J. C. Tenay
But under the name “Tommy”- the Great J. C. never once did play
J. C. confirmed this with respect to those decades long now away
But if this Tommy wasn’t the Chopper known as the Great J. C.
Then Who? –Yes who? - Who on earth could this great Chopper be?
Legend has it that this Tommy McChop would rarely ever hit
Yet with agility - retrieved balls -- as if having a big mitt
Tommy McChop wore hitters down with his daring retrieves
And the entire Brooks Pong Room now most surely believes
Because the one who caused all the Brooks’ Pongers to go flop
Is only known vaguely as the one and only "Tommy McChop"
