The Spring

Fall Semester continues onward towards the Spring
And then will we witness a most amazing Thing?
Will Pied Piper be the only Poet quoting verse?
Or will the Captain return, yet his surface other’s curse?
Captain Long Pips has pips on the blade on each side
Causing some to wish him a plank narrow, not wide
The Captain raised the literacy of our Pong so far
But leaves us now, though the door is open ajar
For this fine Mate to return in the Semester of Spring
With fine Poetry like that of the Hummingbird Sing
Captain Long Pips is not really from a Pirate’s crew
Yet some would call those long pips a witches’ brew
But the great Captain was correct when he did remind
That long pips wreck not havoc, rather it’s in your mind
So if you see a Pong ball in most unusual flight
Don’t let cursing and missing be your plight
And even though a ball may look like a "sitter"
Don’t let those long pips make you a quitter
Pirates as defined - gather an illegal purse
And long-pips on rubber many do so curse
Don’t let a mean Pirate cause you now to shiver
And is it your mind, or do long pips cause quiver?
But for Fall The Captain’s poems have bit the dust
Like Pirates dens that have grown dingy with rust
And we’re not sure what the semester of Spring will Bring
Will there be Pong Balls with Pong or Pong balls with Ping?
Captain Long Pips is welcome back at any time
The fine Chap adds elegance to this verse and rhyme
We wish him well as he sails different pirate seas
His poetry flowed as it were a lovely soft breeze
